Objectionable contents are not acceptable on social networking websites like Facebook, Google, YouTube, twitter, etc. IT minister of India Kapil Sibal says Censorship required on social networking websites for inappropriate contents.
Central Government has said that Freedom of Press will be as it is but inappropriate content on Social networking websites will be not allowed. Governments don’t want to go for censorship but Social Networking Websites haven’t taken any action after so many requests. If required that Government will take action on it.
According to New York Times Before six weeks Kapil sibal have shown a Facebook page of Hon. Sonia Gandhi to their respective representative which was inappropriate and content like that should be removed.
After Brazil and Germany, India is third Country requesting Google for blocking objectionable content.
